Can’t Beat It For The Price! Looks good and functions well. So glad it meets CA DOJ requirements. I have seen comments about difficult shelf assembly… slow down and read instructions and look at pictures carefully. You can install the shelves in all manner of wrong directions! Take your time and all will be right. Had it out of the box and done in less than half and hour, mind you i wasn’t sure how i really wanted it. OH BIG NOTE: KEY’s are taped to the plastic bag around the Safe… I almost didn’t find them. If you put in the center shelf support be careful cutting the bottom foam piece. Get a really sharp razor knife and cut on/through cardboard. If you don’t the foam will rip in a very messy way. And again read directions, you are not removing any foam, just allowing it to wrap around the center support. Sorry picture doesn’t show with bottom foam. I would recommend this to anyone not ready to drop the money on a full blown fire-safe, its great when you are just starting out.

don’t mind the wooden platform it’s sitting on, I live in snow country and it gets wet in the garage. fyi the wooden platform does NOT come with, make your own

It came in good packaging and didn’t show any damage. Following the instructions, I was able to assemble it in about an hour (most of the time was spent changing out I wanted the interior configured.

BY THE WAY, THE KEYS ARE TAPED TO THE PLASTIC BAG COVERING THE SAFE.

After getting it out of the box I hauled all the junk outside, couldn’t find the keys until I searched through the packaging and found them taped to the bag I was getting ready to throw away. Maybe they should paint the keys dayglo orange for us old guys.

Nice cabinet but it’s better not to have it delivered (the packing is inadequate), March 3, 2017

This is a very good cabinet, especially at the $180 price. The reason I don’t give it a better rating is because if has some flaws that would be easily correctable. Firstly, and numerous other reviews confirm this, the packing materials used to ship the cabinet are inadequate. The box is big and cumbersome so it’s tough for the delivery guy to get it to you unscathed. Mine arrived with a dent right in the center of the door and a tad racked. This issue could easily be addressed by adding a sheet of stiff cardboard to protect the door during shipping. I would not have minded if the dent had been on the backside. Secondly, the instructions could be better. Again, the complaints you see in other reviews are true, but avoidable. For example, the manufacturer tells you to install the plastic barrel rests first, but if you put in both of the back wall ones, you won’t be able to install the center partition. Also, add the small shelves before the top shelf and don’t tighten the screws until you have it all assembled; you will have a much easier time of it. Note as well that the center partition only has a flange on one end, so you might want to skip the part that tells you to screw it in from below and wait to attach it from above to the top shelf. Thirdly, the keys in a baggie taped to the plastic the cabinet comes in. You will not notice them and you may throw them away by mistake. The keys should be shipped in the parts pouch along with the assembly hardware.
