FIRESTIK K-1A CB RADIO ANTENNA DISCONNECT MOUNT by FireStik

Convenient way to be able to quickly remove your antenna without fumbling around for tools. Perhaps your antenna is too tall to fit into your garage, or you often park in a high theft area. Maybe you don’t use your antenna every day but want to be able to snap it on in a hurry when you do want to use it. If that’s the case, a quick disconnect is all that you need. Compatible with 3/8″-24 threaded antennas and accessories. The K-1A model has an internal locking mechanism. This design requires more

At first it seemed like a good product, quick release worked well and was happy with it. I was expecting to loose some signal strength at the antenna but did not notice any. I used it on my Jeep for when we went off roading with a group of Jeeps. However on the first trip out over some rocks, the mount broke, leaving the threaded part attached to my CB mount and the rest attached to my antenna. Poor quality of material used to make it. Maybe with using only on the road and not having the antenna bounce all over the place it would lasted longer, but im not sure.

I’ve had this installed for about a month. Like others, it worked fine immediately following installation. I went into a parking garage last week with my Jeep and attempted to remove my antenna. The dang thing wouldn’t release. I contacted Firestik over a week ago with no response. So much for their warranty. If my Firestik antenna breaks in the future, I’ll replace it with a Wilson after this garbage.

Needs to be a flat edge on both ends for tightening and removing it from what it is attached to. There is only a flat edge foot a wrench on one end. Other than that they work like they are supposed to.
