Cressi Borg, Long Blade Diving and Spearfishing Knife

New Borg is a modern, large knife with a futuristic design and a strong, tempered blade. One side of the stainless steel blade is straight-edged, the other one is serrated right along the blade; they are both very sharp and effective for line cutting. It is separated from the blade by a small technopolymer thumb tab. Sheath with locking mechanism to allow one-hand release. The knife comes with two, standard issue straps to attach it to your leg. Total length: 10.43″ (265 mm) Blade length: 5,51″

Great buy. I bought this knife without ever owning anything similar before, and was somewhat hesitant to spend the money for it.
I use this knife specifically for snorkeling trips, since we usually do it in groups involving several dive flags and ropes going everywhere.
The knife compartment stays put and has never come undone or un-clipped. I’m usually able to strap both top and bottom straps below my knee.
The knife has a great gripping handle and feels and looks very nice. It came in fairly sharp but not to the level I like, in a few minutes I had mine razor sharp and ready to go. I take the knife with me on all my snorkeling trips, as it serves as a tool in case of an emergency. It also gives me a false sense of security in case I was attacked by a sea creature. 🙂

Balanced and sharp on both sides. Holder retains knife very well. Pay no attention to the crybabies who go on about rust on ANY knife. C’mon, this is salt water we are in. Of course it will not stay new looking. Oil it well and care for it, and it will last forever. Great knife for the money. Arrived quick and in new shape. Enjoy.

Half Stainless, Half rusty, December 9, 2016

After 2 or 3 times out in the ocean the hand guard started to rust even after I rinsed and dried it before storage. Since then after every use I take it apart, rinse it with fresh water, and dry it off completely and it is still getting worse. The threads on the tang are getting hard to operate and pretty soon the pommel will not be able to screw back on and it will be worthless as a dive knife. The blade may be stainless steel, but they cheaped out on the rest of it. I would not recommend this knife at all unless you’re looking for something to use for a month or two and then throw away. Not good quality.
