It is okay. Like someone said, you need it to handle your radio securely if you are in the field. There are many buttons that can accidentally be triggered on top otherwise, and the built-in handle it is not a good grip when on-the -go. The case needs to cover more of the radio for protection, particluarly around speaker, bass and volume buttons, and top of radio. The webbing straps block variable light switch and 4th preset button. However, you can still press through the fabric and activate them no problem. Additionally, if you grip from the right side, it can trigger the power button so use the radio lock feature, probably more than you would like. The radio is already expensive, so they should throw this in, as 40 bucks costs almost as much as the rebadged RCA Superadio. The only reason I would give this five stars is there are no other products available, and it is important to have. The Grundig 350 has a good built-in strap system and is free of buttons on top. However the manual indicates only alkaline batteries should be used for it, so I passed on replacing mine. I will write a review of this radio, at some point, as well.

The Perfect Carry Handle, March 4, 2015

I did not know what to expect when I ordered this, as it looked to be fairly redundant. Boy, was I wrong. The CCRadio-2E does not have a carry handle. Instead, there is an indentation on the back of the radio to fit you fingers so you can wrap your hand around the top of the radio to carry it around. I do not like this arrangement. I prefer a carry handle.

This case provides a carry handle and more. I use this radio for MW as well as FM DXing, and it seems everytime I went to touch the radio to move it, I was inadvertently pressing a button somewhere I did not want to press. So, I was either changing bands or calling up memory positions. Very aggravating.

the case provides a perfect carry handle, and is also very stylish and adds to the overall look of the radio.

    Good reception!, March 28, 2015

I live in a rural area surrounded by hills. Radio reception is poor. This radio changed that. I bought second one. Love this radio for reception, however you need the carrying case. The CCRadio 2 is heavy for me. I soon realized I was going to drop it without the case. I agree the case is pricey but breaking this radio would be a terrible waste. I wish they would just include the carry case with the radio or build in a handle. There is an indentation in the radio with acts as a handle but is awkward for anyone with dexterity or strength issues. This is why I gave the radio 4 stars instead of 5.
